After almost five years of development, the Swiss engineers at broncolor have created the most advanced flash generator (also continuous light) in history, including a new lamp. During the development process, the main priorities were performance, flexibility, ease of use and a long service life.
What's new?
Dual power management: The power generators come with power slots that can be fitted with power supplies, batteries or a combination, providing maximum flexibility for studio and outdoor work.
Maximum flexibility: The system offers a multi-touch screen, physical buttons, an encoder and app/API connections. With an intuitive user interface, it can be tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of each user.
Two-way communication: The power supply unit, lamp and other components communicate constantly with each other, allowing adjustments to be made from any location.
The completely new system features an innovative dual-power concept: Satos comes with power slots that can be equipped with power supplies, high-performance batteries or a combination, depending on the application. This not only allows the same system to be used in and out of the studio, but also significantly improves performance, especially in regions with fragile power grids. The best power selection for each shot can be set with a flick of the wrist.
Satos 1600 + Satos 3200
Satos offers unlimited convenience for any working method. Adjustments can be made in one multi-touch screen 5.7″ industrial-grade; through a rotary/push-button control; by classic buttons or an application interface; or even via a Python API. Every parameter can be adjusted down to the smallest detail with the help of an intuitive user interface. The patented broncolor technology enables the fastest flash times together with the highest consistency in colour temperature over the entire control range of up to 12 f-stops and between lamps.
Satos offers up to 3200 joules of flash energy. This enormous power can be distributed between one and three channels completely independent of each other, and the colour temperature, delay or a sequence function can be set individually for each channel. Previously, multiple flash generators were needed to trigger alternating flashes. However, with Satos, the alternating function can be achieved using all three channels of a single generator, eliminating the need for more generators.
Pulse L
The Pulse L lamp is the perfect combat companion for Satos and allows the highest level of operating comfort through the bidirectional communication between the lamp and the generator. All settings can be made on the lamp and are synchronised with the system in real time. The experts involved in the project put the greatest emphasis on increasing the daily usability of a certain function or feature, such as the operation of the lamp in flash, continuous light or mixed mode, as well as the communication between all active components of the system.
The modelling and the continuous light Pulse L come from a calibrated bi-colour LED matrix with a variable green/magenta mix and an adjustable colour temperature from 2800 K to 6800 K in continuous light mode. For further fine-tuning of the light shapers, the position of the flash tube can be changed by means of a rotary wheel. The Pulse series is synonymous with investment protection, as all products in the series are known to last a long time with features such as a metal housing and durable industrial grade cables, ensuring durability.
